The Chimera

The Rose tempts me with its beauty

And pricks me with its thorns

The Mirage lures me into a shimmering oasis

And dessicates me with desert heat

The Siren calls me with her alluring song

As a whirlpool dashes me against the rocks

The Diamond dazzles with shiny brilliance

As a razor's edge slices into me

The Serpent offers a succulent apple

And then coils around my soul

I am drawn to you hypnotically

Despite knowing what awaits me
